Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A male was spoken with by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other .

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be harmful.

"These kinds of products being offered, typically online, have undergone no quality control and there can be no assurance about their security.

"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the result drugs like this might have on your health."
